LOCAL HISTORIC SITES

Old Arichastlich

Situated between the Bridge of Orchy and Dalmally, in Glenorchy, this settlement on forestry land tells a huge chunk of the social story of the Glen. From the remains of an early shieling (small irregular dwelling and enclosure) through to the quite elegant ‘Improver’ styled house, with it’s orchard and greenhouse. A barn, a grain kiln, a byre and a flax retting area all contribute to make this a site of special interest.

Dail nam Bord Fank

The Eas Urchaidh Waterfalls in Glen Orchy can be crossed by the new Forestry Bridge when finished (under construction).

A mile up the forestry track Dail nam Bord Fank and the remains of a dwelling can be found at Imir Crom.
